Steel Blue is a private club for the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgendered Community. You must be 21 years or older and have a valid Driver’s License to obtain a membership. Individuals 18-20 must be accompanied by a member.

To apply, please complete the membership application and send it to clubsteelblue@gmail.com. (A valid Driver's License is necessary to obtain your membership card.) You can also pick up a membership at the club during normal business hours.

Please note, if you plan on attending ANY events at Steel Blue (Ie: parties, shows etc.), we strongly encourage you to purchase a membership. Since we are a member's only club, the State of NC requires anyone entering either be a member, or a guest of a member.

Membership Requirements and Guest Policy

1. Only members in good standing and their guest(s) shall be admitted into Steel Blue.
2. Applicants must be 21 or older to be a member.
3. No membership shall be granted sooner than 3 days after applicant submits a completed application.
4. All persons whose membership has been accepted will receive a membership card. Membership cards must be presented each and every time you enter the club.
5. Failure to pay annual membership fees shall result in membership being suspended. Person will be ineligible to enter the club until fees are paid.
6. A membership may be suspended or revoked by the membership committee for failure to comply with club rules or/ and State ABC laws.
7. A limit of 10,000 members can apply to the club.
8. Each member shall be entitled to bring as many guests as they like on a monthly basis, with a limit of 10 guests per visit.
9. No one person will be admitted as a guest more than 5 times in a calendar year.
10. You must be a member to bring under 21 guests into the club. You are responsible for your guests.
11. Any member in good standing, or bona fide guests shall be entitled to use the facility during posted club hours. During times that the club is not used by general membership, the club shall have the right to host special events or private parties to a member or group, in good standing.
12. Persons in the intoxicated condition will not be allowed to enter the club, or remain in the club or on the premises. No alcoholic beverage sales will be made to intoxicated or underage persons.
13. Boisterous or indecent conduct will not be tolerated in the club or on its premises. Any unruly conduct will result in a permanent ban from the club.
14. Valid driver's license and passports are the only form of ID permitted.

Dress Code

We are a dress-to-impress club. Our main concerns are the following:

• No excessively baggy clothing (This is a security issue.)
• No do-rags

We reserve the right to refuse admission to anyone for inappropriate dress.

Code of Conduct

Any selling, buying or use of drugs on club property will result in removal from the club by Durham Police. Membership will be revoked without refund and a lifetime ban from the club will be enforced.

No fighting, rude or belligerent behavior will be tolerated. All parties involved will be removed from the club.

Any destruction of club property will result in ejection of club.
